The Gospel and Scripture: How to Read the Bible

Christians agree that there is a fundamental and profound relationship between the Bible and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The exact nature of this relationship is a matter for deep reflection. Many different ways of seeing the relationship between the Bible and the gospel of Jesus Christ have been suggested for study. This book will explain two specific relationships between the Bible and the gospel:
1. The gospel is the cause of the revelation recorded in the Bible.
2. The gospel is the result of the revelation recorded in the Bible.

The primary reason the Bible was written, and the purpose for which the Bible was written, is to fulfill God’s purpose in the gospel.
